A Night at the Fox
Mom came up last week from the Circle City. We took her to the Trackside Grille in downtown Kennesaw for dinner, the tackled Atlanta traffic and headed to the Fabulous Fox Theatre to see the Broadway cast performance of Dreamgirls. The show was very good, and Jennifer Holliday proved why she was perfectly cast as Effie, belting out tunes with a voice so strong that she made the rest of the cast seem like amateurs. Theatre has changed a lot over the years though. As mom put it, "we used to get dressed to the nine". Now, however, it appears to be acceptable to wear your best Michael Vick jersey to the theatre. Another surprise? Popcorn. That's right. You can now watch the Phantom of the Opera while sipping on a 64oz. super-sized soda and eating your buttered popcorn. Sad but true.
