The Big Chicken
UFO's, Nessie, Bigfoot, the Easter Bunny, Santa Claus, the Tooth Fairy... We've all heard great stories about them. Everyone that you have ever met has a different story about each one of them. But how do we know that they actually exist? This is how I felt regarding the Big Chicken. Every time I get directions, it's "Hang a left at the Big Chicken." It finally happened... while traveling down Cobb Parkway today, I came across this giant anomaly... the picture is only slightly better than the Patterson-Gimlin film or the Zapruder film. But at least now, I'm a believer... ME

Virginia
I tell people that I am from Alabama, but I actually lived many places before settling down in Dothan (at age 10). One of my favorite places that we lived was in Burke, VA. This is a map of the community where we lived (click on map to enlarge). The red lines indicate the paved bicycle trails that ran throughout the area. At the time it seemed like there were millions of them. We went to an underground school called Terra Centre, some experimental solar energy project (the school was literally buried in the earth). My recent trip to Virginia reminded me of how great it was. We definitely need to make another trip there. MikeMonday, July 17, 2006

Consolidation
Even though we have two completely different styles, I think they came together beautifully. Mom did a fantastic job. Of course, now there are more nails in the walls than the Louvre...
Decorating 101
Now, I don't know very much about decorating, but apparently, you are not doing it right unless you paint something a color that it was not originally intended to be. For example, we bought this white piece of art, then painted it black. Then we bought a black carving, and painted it white. It would make entirely too much sense to buy anything already the correct color!
