Rotary International

After weeks of visiting the West Cobb Rotary, I was finally initiated yesterday at our weekly luncheon. I received my Rotary pin and got to learn the secret handshake!

A Shopping Story

Shannon needs a new television for her bedroom. The one she has is from the 80's, and the picture is horrible. I decided to go out and get her a flat screen 20" TV/DVD combo television for Christmas. It took me 3 trips to Best Buy, but I finally narrowed it down. I found the perfect TV, and cheerily went to the checkout line. After the purchase, a nice young man asked me if I needed any assistance. Duh! I'm male, under 35, I don't need directions, instructions, or assistance!!! So I take the said TV in my shopping cart to my vehicle (a Honda Accord), then spend the next 35 minutes trying to figure out this Rubic's Cube of getting a 20" TV into a 19" space. I could have called it quits and gotten the free shipping, but I was determined. At this point, I took off my jacket (I was sweating like a dog in heat, even though it was 46 degrees outside) and proceeded with plan "B". Take the TV out of the box! Brilliant!!!!! By this point, people were staring at me in awe. Styrofoam was flying , children were crying, it wasn't pretty. I finally got to Shannon's home, did the old switch-a-roo with her TV's, and am waiting for her to notice the difference. Don't worry about any spoilers, she only reads this site about once every four or five weeks! Merry Christmas!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dallas Loses (Skins Win)!!!

A perfect day for the Washington Redskins would include a complete, start-to-finish, no-let-up humiliation of the Dallas Cowboys. Make it a game that puts the playoffs within serious reach, and you've got sheer nirvana.
From the raucous pregame chants of "We Want Dallas" to the seven sacks, four turnovers and four touchdown passes, the celebration never stopped in Sunday's 35-7 blowout, Washington's most one-sided victory in the 45-year history of the rivalry. I love football!!!

Pooped!

I don't know about you, but the holiday season seems to wear me out! I had a dinner party with my Rotary Club on Thursday, a luncheon with 65 people on Friday, I won't even speak of Saturday, Sunday made me want to cry, and Monday was our Outback Christmas party (which Shannon couldn't attend, because she had to be up at 4:30 just to be at work on time). I'll have a load lifted off my shoulders once I get my Christmas shopping done... around midnight Christmas Eve!!!!!!
