Dothan News Update

DOTHAN, Ala. (AP) - A gunman wearing camouflage and a helmetordered doctors and nurses out of a small medical center today.
Witnesses and a Dothan city official said the man apparently firedshots as he barricaded himself inside.

City spokeswoman Cynthia Greene said authorities do NOT believe anyone was hurt or that anyone is being held hostage.

She said Police Chief John Powell reported that authorities are negotiating with the man in the Primecare building. The facility is a small outpatient medical center.

A nurse fleeing from Primecare to a nearby business said the man told medical personnel he didn't want to harm anyone but wanted them all out. Police and sheriff's deputies have surrounded the building.

Comments:
The man was indentified later as Mr. Mike Shula, former coach of Alabama, loser of the 2006 Iron Bowl. Witnesses overheard Mr. Shula shouting "All I want is a job people and no one gets hurt, I'll clean toilets if I have too."
